Media Down

@LonMcEachern runs 99 into AK and I run   into   - different tables but during the same hand - and the Media have been eliminated from today's $235 Seniors Event.

Well, since I spend a lot of time break down the hands of others (for a living) I'll post my hand here for everyone's amusement.

Only 4 hands at my new table (I won the first two and knocked a player out) and I am sitting with 32,000 in the SB. Action folds around to the button and he flips out nine 500-chips is a very splashy way.

I look down and see   and I flat. The BB gets out of the way and we're off to the flop.

   and we both check.

Turn is  and I make it 10,000. He chuckles and calls.

OK, I am pretty certain the chuckle means he has AK, so I need a Q or I have to fold ... or bluff the river to win this pot.

The turn is  putting four to the straight on the board and I Insta-Shove. I can check-fold to his bet, or I can shove, there's no other way to win this pot. Any smaller bet and he calls, and I'm pretty certain he bets and will call a check-shove.

Well, I lasted at that table for two minutes beyond my Insta-Shove, as he tried to find a call, and managed at the very end to find that call deep within him.
