Ivan Holmes was on a tear in Day 1A, up to 160,000 chips before anyone else hit 6-figures, only to see his day come to an end before bagging chips at the end of the night.
Today, he left for dinner break with 90,000 in chips, the overall leader and his friend Dustin Fox (80,000) the only other player close.
We headed over to Ivan's table to see the flop of J78 and Alan Mastic -- 3rd in the Heads Up tournament -- all-in. Holmes thought for a while and made the call, fearing 9T from Mastic. What he saw was 78 for bottom two pair against his set, and Holmes had knocked out yet another player, moving to about 130,000 and extending his chiplead.
We are now in Level 7, blinds of 300/600 with 75 antes. There are 54 players still in Day 1B.
