Chop it Up, Title to Brecher

Steve Brecher and Steve Foutty, just before the start of Level 22, have agreed to a chip-chip with Brecher taking $46,427 and the Poker NV Fall Challenge title.
Foutty receives $43,613 and 2nd place.

That's a wrap, thanks for being with us for 10 days.

Heads Up for $56k

Steve Brecher, with 2,455 million in chips is heads up against Steve Foutty, with 1.945 million in chips, for the Poker NV Fall Challenge Main Event title.

Brecher is the 2009 WPY Bay 101 Shooting star champion

Foutty is the 2014 WPT Deepstacks Turlock Poker Room Champion.

The two players are on a 15-minute break discussing a potential chop.

Danielle Anderson - 3rd Place.

Danielle Anderson 4-bets all-in for about 720,000 after Steve Brecher made it 65,000 from the button.

Steve Foutty gets out of the way, and Brecher calls almost immediately, tabling AT, while Anderson says "good luck, boys," and shows A3.

The board runs out Jxx77 and Anderson is eliminated in 3rd place, collecting $22,260.

Brecher moves to 2.565 million. He is heads up against Steve Foutty who has 1.835 million when we come back from a 15-minute break.

Level 19 Chipcounts

We have reached Level 19, blinds of 15000/30000 with 5000 antes

Steve Brecher has 1.8 million
Steve Foutty has 1.45 million
Danielle Anderson has 1.15 million

Inside the Deal as They Talk Chop

Danielle Anderson says she is not comfortable going to $40,000, but will be OK with $45,000.

Steve Foutty says "Play Ball," and Steve Brecher says "No Concessions."

Foutty counters by offering $1,500 from his chop, Brecher hesitates and Anderson says "How about $2,500 from each of you?"

Foutty says that is too much, and cards are back in the air.

Talking Chop and Updated Chipcounts

Steve Foutty asked for a ICM chop count and here is what it shows

$40,054 for Danielle Anderson with 1,782,000 chips
$37,859 for Steve Brecher with 1,500,000 chips
$34,386 for Steve Foutty with 1,118,000 chips

Chop Talk as we Near Break.

Steve Foutty is starting a discussion among he, Danielle Anderson and Steve Brecher about chopping 3-ways the remaining money in the prize pool.

Foutty asks Mike Nelson of Peppermill Poker Room to stop the clock, Nelson says no but you can delay your action to talk at the table, and Anderson says we can talk about this on break in 4 minutes.

Jerry Morrell - 4th Place

Jerry Morrell goes over the top of Steve Foutty preflop, moving all in and Foutty insta-calls.

Morrell, runner-up in the Card Player Poker Tour event a year ago at the Atlantis Reno, Shows Q♥J♦.

Foutty, winner of the WPT Deepstacks Poker Tour event at Turlock Poker Room last May, shows K♣T♦

The flop is 9♥9♦T♥.

The A turn gives Morrell a broadway draw, but the 7♥ river ends it.

Morrell is out in 4th place, collecting $15,490.

Foutty moves to around 1.2 million.

Ivan Holmes - 5th Place

Ivan Holmes makes it 45,000 from the cutoff and Steve Brecher, in the big blind, has a look on his face as though he doesn't believe the raise is one indicating a very big hand from Holmes, and he makes the call.

The flop is 4♣6♣7 and Brecher checks.

Holmes tosses out 25,000 in chips as he announces all in, and Brecher insta-calls.

Brecher has flopped top two pair with his 6♥7♥, while Holmes caught top pair and a flush draw with his Q♣7♣.

The turn is a J♦ and the river is a blank, and Holmes, chipleader for much of the final table, is eliminated in 5th place, cashing for $11,540.

We are 17 minutes from break, we'll have updated chipcounts for you on break.

Le Bleu collects $8,900 and Foutty moves to roughly 1 milly

Chiplead to DMoonGirl

A 3-bet to more than 200,000 from Danielle @dmoongirl Anderson was followed by a 4-bet to about 550,000 from chipleader Ivan Holmes in a Big Stack v. Big Stack clash among the two players who posess about 60 percent of all the chips in play 6-handed at the Peppermill Poker NV Fall Challenge Main Event.

After a short delay, Anderson moves all-in and Holmes insta-mucks, shifting the chiplead to Anderson, who now has roughly 1.5 million, with Holmes sliding to about 750,000

Short Stack Clash End Casey's Night

We arrived just in time to see Billy Casey stand up as the dealer moved his stack over to Rich Le Bleu

"I had K9, the best hand I've had the entire final table," said Casey, "and I had a flush draw and a straight draw on the turn."

He missed all his draws, Le Bleu gathered in his chips and Casey collects $6,880 for his 7th place finish.
Le Bleu, who was down to 57,000 chips earlier at the final table, is now up to about 445,000.

Zak Gilbert has moved in with 66, and Steve Brecher next to him is all in with A♦T♦, while to Brecher's right is Steve Foutty who calls both all ins and shows KK.

The board comes out 4♠A♣7♠9♣4♦, giving Brecher almost a full triple up as he had 141,000 behind and Gilbert had about 90,000.

As that hand was wrapping up, Jason Somerville moved all-in holding 99 and was called by the AK of Billy Casey.

The board ran out A23K8 and Somerville was eliminated.

Both Somerville and Gilbert cash for $2,130.

Early Payouts in Main Event

Timmons Bubbles

Dee Timmons moves all in preflop and after a count out to 95,000, Danielle Anderson -- with about 515,000 behind -- makes the call.

At the next table, however, Loren Klein faces an all-in from Ivan Holmes and Klein is deep in the tank deciding if he want to fold, leaving himself one BB or play it out.

Timmons flips her hand, exposing KK and Anderson shows A7 so Klein knows what the other table's all-in's during hand-for-hand play are.

He talks it out and decides to try and fold his way into the money.

The flop comes out A7J, giving Anderson two pair
The J turn and Q river means Timmons bubbles the money and Klein limps in.

Ivan Holmes - 600,000
Danielle Anderson - 455,000

Holmes to 600k

Klein has K♥J♥ and Holmes has 66 and they were all in before the river.

The dealer is counting down Holmes' stack and he has 254,000, Klein has him covered by fewer than 15,000 chips.

Holmes is to nearly 600,000, almost 150,000 clear of the field while Klein is down to fewer than 4 big blinds and we remain on the money bubble

Big Laydown, Bigger Pot

We show up on the turn to see the board showing 7♠A♣6♥8♥ and what appears to be right at 200,000 chips already in the pot.

Billy Casey is standing up and the dealer is counting out his stack as he has announced he is all in, the count is 97,000 and Billy is talking to Dan Schneider.

Schneider has about 250,000 behind and contemplating the call.

"All in, I show either way," says Casey with a huge smile on his face as he sits back down, "how much more fair can I be than that."

"Show me the bluff," Schneider says as he folds after a nearly 4-minute tank.

"It ain't no bluff, no bluff," says Casey as he tables 9♣T♠ for the nut straight.

"wooooooow," says Schneider as he stands up. "I did NOT put you on an Ace and I had you crushed preflop."

Schneider walks over to me and says he laid down KK there.

Casey moves to about 300,000 and a top-5 stack.

Included at the table are both Danielle @dmoongirl Anderson and Jason Somerville, along with 5-time Reno Main Event champ Ivan Holmes, Lance Donnell, JT Tran, Dee Timmons and Deborah Swift.

WPT Champions Club Member Steve Brecher (Bay 101 2009, $1.1 million) Ron Gil and Roy Armstrong anchor the Holdem Radio Feature table, while a side table has Billy Casey and Mike Postle, with the outer table includes Aaron Schoch and Zak Gilbert - 1/2 now in the All Around Player Championship standings - Hank Czarnecki, Steve Foutty and Jerry Morrell.

Chips For Dah Tank

On a flop of T87, Jim 'Yuma' Zheng moves all in and gets called by Hank 'Dah Tank' Czarnecki

Zheng shows he needs help as he shows 67 for bottom pair and a gutshot straight draw, while Czarnecki made the hard call holding top pair with a K kicker

The board ran out J3 and Zheng is out in 37th palce, Czarnecki moving to about 150,000 chips.

Shortly after we lost Sargon Shiba in 36th. Shiba fell all the way down to 4200 chips, moved back to nearly 70,000 and then saw his chips go away.

There is a full 4-table redraw taking place now for the final 36 players.

Recent Bustouts

We are down to 39 players now in the Poker NV Fall Challenge Main Event.

Recent bustouts include Randy Gil (43), Tony Le (42) and Candace Collins (41).

Aces Good v DMoonGirl

Danielle @dmoongirl Anderson bets 4500 from middle position and Joe Barry makes it 10,000 from the cutoff.
"Do you have anything lucky on, is that necklace lucky?" Anderson asks Barry, who chuckles and says the long chain hanging from his neck might be lucky.
"OK, I can play against one lucky thing, not two," and she makes the call.

"I'm not wearing anything lucky today," she says as the flop comes out 8♦Q♦T♠.
Anderson leads out for 6,000, Barry 3-bets light to 12,000 and Anderson calls.

The 5♠ comes on the turn, Anderson checks and Barry bets out 25,000. Anderson asks to see how many orange 5k chips Barry has. He moves them to be more visible, showing about 140,000 total in chips behind. Anderson starts cutting out a bet from her 320,000 chip stack, and eventually calls.

The T♦ draws another check from Anderson, and after a few moments, Barry decides to check behind and he tables AA.
Anderson, smiles, mucks and says "nice hand, sir."

Here's a tip, folks, wait for the first player to show his/her hand, gather as much information as you can, especially when playing a pro of Anderson's caliber.

Quack Quack, and Quack Quack too

Sargon Shiba - 9th place at the HPT Main Event about 8 weeks ago at Thunder Valley - leads out and gets a call from Rich Le Bleu (this is right spelling, sorry for mistake earlier, Rich).

Le Bleu checks dark and Shiba - holding AK - leads out on a 22x flop, seeing Le Bleu flat call.

Both players check the turn and when a blank falls on the river, Le Bleu checks again. Shiba bets out 15,000 and Le Bleu moves all in for his last 32,000.

Shiba calls and Le Bleu turns over 22 for flopped quads.

Not bad for checking dark preflop, eh?

Aces No Good

Steve Foutty leads out and Hank Czarnecki reraises preflop, with Foutty flatting.
Czarnecki bets the 8Jx flop and Foutty again flats.
Both players check the T turn and Czarnecki fires the river blank, only for Foutty to call again.

Czarnecki shows AA, and Foutty with 8T takes than hand, having caught his 8 on the flop and turned 2 pair.

Foutty to about 180,000, Czarnecki to about 97,000

Holmes on a Run Again

Ivan Holmes was on a tear in Day 1A, up to 160,000 chips before anyone else hit 6-figures, only to see his day come to an end before bagging chips at the end of the night.

Today, he left for dinner break with 90,000 in chips, the overall leader and his friend Dustin Fox (80,000) the only other player close.

We headed over to Ivan's table to see the flop of J78 and Alan Mastic -- 3rd in the Heads Up tournament -- all-in. Holmes thought for a while and made the call, fearing 9T from Mastic. What he saw was 78 for bottom two pair against his set, and Holmes had knocked out yet another player, moving to about 130,000 and extending his chiplead.

We are now in Level 7, blinds of 300/600 with 75 antes. There are 54 players still in Day 1B.

The 68 remaining Day 1B players are in Level 6, playing blinds of 200/400 with 50 antes.

There is a 60-minute dinner break after this level, and there are four more levels to play after this, with players bagging chips just shy of midnight tonight.

Faces in the Crowd: ME Day 1B

Some 40 minutes into the next level and Kampmann has something to say, via Twitter.

AK No Good This Time

Billy Casey finds himself all in for about a 22,000 stack against the 99 of Dustin Iannotti

Four diamonds fall by the river, and there is no fifth diamond in either player's hand on a T high board.

Iannotti moves to about 54,000 and Casey moves to the registration area to fire one more bullet.

Around the Run It UP Twitteratti

Here's a bit of what's being said via Twitter about the Poker NV Fall Challenge Main Event.

Field Has Topped May's Main Event

The board reads 186 entries, this makes the Poker NV Fall Challenge Main Event now larger than the inaugural Poker NV Challenge held last May, right before the WSOP.

Each event in this 27-event series has seen an increase in the number of entries -- up to 25 percent or more for many of the tournaments, showing this event and the Peppermill Poker Room is a destination for poker players in northern Nevada, northern California and across the country.

Cards in air for Day 1B

We're off and running for Day 1B of the $100,000 guaranteed Poker NV Fall Challenge. Players begin with 20,000 chips and play hour-long levels. Play continues through 10 levels today, chips bagged just shy of midnight.

The clock shows 175 total entries at this point combined for days 1A/B, so that $100k guarantee has already been shattered. Only 40 more entries are needed in the next 5 hours for that prize pool to hit $200,000, so tell your friends to get down here and play for what should be $56,000-$62,000 for first place.

Final Five Hands

26 players remain and the tournament staff has announced we are playing the final five hands of the night before players bag chips to come back at Noon Sunday for Day 2.
Blinds are 600/1200 with a 200 ante.

DMoonGirl Among Chipleaders

Danielle @dmoongirl Anderson, after knocking out another player, has moved to more than 160,000 chips and is among the top stacks with 32 players remaining in Day 1A of the Main Event.

Jason Somerville - with 60,000 chips - has just been moved to Anderson's table, where they are joined by Sargon Shiba (70k) and Mia Xiong (65k), among others. This is THE table of chips, as two other players also have 160k stacks, but I don't want to interrupt during the final level of play to get names, I'll add that when we post official chipcounts at the end of the night here in about an hour.

We are in Level 10, the last level of the night, and here are some other chipcounts from around the room.

Lance Donnell - 100,000

Yama Zheng -- 52,000
Ivan Holmes - 50,000

Holmes, who has won $1,000-or-larger-buyin events in Reno five times in the last five years, is up to about 160,000 in chips with the blinds just at 400/800.

He is not the only player with more than 100k in chips, but he is substantially clear of the field.

Daneille 'dmoongirl' Anderson is at the Holdem Radio Feature Table with about 102,000.
Sargon Shiba, 9th place at the recent HPT Man Event at Thunder Valley, is two to Anderson's left and he is at 90,000.

Dustin Fox is at the table right behind Anderson and Shiba, sitting four to the right of Holmes. Fox is at 87,000.

One table down on the right are the very creatively stacked 75,000 of Jason Somerville's chips. ob Mather has 64,00 at Somerville's table.

Lance Donnell is at 78,000, with Zak GIlbert (70,000) Hank Czarnecki (51,000) and Candace Collins (30,000) at Lance's table.

3 Levels to go Tonight

The 42 remaining players have just started Level 8, blinds of 400/800 with 100 antes. There are three more levels until play stops for the night and players bag chips to come back at Noon Sunday. There is also one more 15-minute break so play continues until just shy of midnight.
